Arrgh What Have I DONE ????????

The first day my youngest son went to preschool I sat in my quiet living room. Just sitting and really having no purpose or initiative to do anything cause everything I have known for the last 14 years has been being a stay at home mum and caring for my children.

So just sitting in a quiet once overly noisy room I was lost. I had to idea how to adjust to this new environment but I knew that if I stayed like this i would stay a lost soul.

So i put food to thought and looked on the computer for a Teachers Aide Course.A simple hobby to partake in to keep my mind active and to really give me something to do.

I researched on the net for a Course and I found a number to ring.I rang a guy called James who started the balls rolling and instead of studying a basic Teachers Aide Course he enrolled me straight into the Bachelor of early Education. Ok that was ok

Two days letter I received an email with not one but two tests.  Arrgh I was scared I havent studied for a good 10 years.I could study before the test i had two days to complete it. Bailey my youngest went to preschool the following day and I sat the tests.Turned out i was stressing over nothing as i passed with flying colours which boosted my esteem yay.Maybe just maybe I can do my bachelor. So after this I was fully enrolled and I started this week. Don't really ask how its going yet as its still a very confusing stage but I'm sure this will get better.

So the weeks rolled on while I was waiting to  start my Bachelor of Education Early Childhood and then one day I went with a group of my friends to organise some stuff for the locl Girl Guides,(Oops i forgot to say yes I'm on the Committee for Girl Guides.Yes my life is crazy busy especially with 4 kids but thats a whole new post all together)Well one of my friends is a Scout Leader and she has been for about a year. She planted the seed saying the scouts was growing so much that they will need a new leader. So of course crazy me said "I think I might like to do that"

Most of the scouts already know as I was already linked to the scout group by being the Treasurer and my son is a scout.Plus my friends children are in scouts. However I know nothing about scouts at all I have no bush skills or camp skills and really i camp with electricity. So really the only thing I have going for me that will help me with becoming a scout leader is that i can communicate well with kids and i can relate with them quite well as usually I'm one of them. A big kid at heart.

So the balls were sent rolling then and yes now Im a scout leader for our local scout group.

My first hurdle was choosing a name.I had no idea cause really to me I don't know why you have a different name at scouts.I still don't know the answer to this but its all good.So all week i was coming across names and getting suggestions pinky, kanga, dingo, alot of jungle book character names and I did like the tiger Shere Khan - yay I had a scout name but wait after further investigation i found out the meaning of Shere Khan it means Bullying and Killer. That did not describe me at all so once again I have no name. So i let the scouts choose my name.

My first night at scouts I turned up in uniform and to the amazement of the kids they were shocked to see me in uniform.BUt after the initial shock they all named me "Bambi" .My hubby thinks its a great name as he thinks I'll be a princess of the bush and really I probally will be.I'm up for a challenge  so this is what this blog will be about my challenge through scouts the ups, downs and crazy so keep posted and the more I get use to blogging the more creative I will be by adding photos and stuff.
